With Hari Raya around the corner, it’s time to plan your weekend by visiting the most exciting pop-ups, events and more.

Now that Malaysia is in its transition to the endemic phase, we expect a return to normal for this Hari Raya 2022 with more in-person events.

Several Hari Raya and Ramadan bazaars and pop-ups are planned for this year, and Malaysians of all races are keen to participate after two years of muted celebrations. Who doesn’t love the spirit of Raya’s bazaars – buzzing with activity, full of glorious food and other unique offerings?

If you are looking for homemade kuih, gifts, a brand new outfit or just to get into Raya’s mind, here are some fun events to check out. Be sure to bookmark this page as we continue to add more Raya events during the month of Ramadan in 2022.

Hari Raya events you should know about in 2022:

Raya pop-up store

The ethical fashion platform Dia Guild is collaborating with the famous local designer Khoon Hooi, for their Raya pop-up store this Saturday April 9, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Held at APW Bangsar, Dia aims to uphold Southeast Asian culture and creativity with greater appreciation for the masterpieces they have worked with love and passion to create.

The Raya Pop-Up store is set to showcase Dia’s new traditional and handcrafted jewelry and accessories collections for Raya, as well as the latest Bespoke Raya and lifestyle collections from Khoon Hooi, where he has infused Asian culture into party clothes with a contemporary twist. Some of the designs featured in this event are brand new prints of Khoon Hooi’s popular Chiasa bags and the new Raya de Dia collection of one-of-a-kind obi silk bags from Sophia by Shirley. Khoon Hooi’s bespoke Raya collection with stunning bespoke kebayas, as well as Dia’s full range of jewelry brands, will also be on display.

Chinatown corner

Chinatown Corner, a dedicated pop-up space on the ground floor of the Four Points Hotel, Chinatown KL, will take place on April 16 and 17 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Chinatown Corner presents a modern take on the traditional Ramadan bazaar, with delicious treats, gifts and clothing. Among the many participating vendors are Picha Eats, Hetam, Bayou and Asli by E.

Cerita Raya

The Messy Club, a creative platform, is once again organizing the Cerita Raya bazaar in Rumah Tangsi, Kuala Lumpur. It will take place over the next three weekends: April 9-10, 16-17 and 23-24, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. This free event is expected to host over 200 vendors this time around, creatives, F&B, music, exhibits and more. This event is sure to put you in the Raya spirit!

IPC Jumpers Raya

IPC (IPC) Mall in Mutiara Damansara is celebrating Ramadan and Hari Raya with their “Jumpaverse” campaign by May 15, where shoppers will enjoy special promotions and great rewards when they visit and shop at the center commercial IPC.

Shoppers can expect fun and exciting activities such as free weekend arts and crafts workshops for kids, cultural music and dance performances. In addition, the Små Club Buddies mascots will be touring. IPC has also transformed its outdoor space into the open air where Muslim diners can berbouka puasa with their friends and family.
