Stilt walkers, jugglers, dancers and more can all be discovered at Folkways’ flagship event, Night Bazaar. The third event in this monthly series spotlights community talent with a plethora of unique experiences, vendors and performances in downtown Fargo at Broadway Square.
The upcoming bazaar will feature over 40 local artisans, makers and vintage shops. This month’s night market will feature jewelry vendor Wildera Studio. The owner, Kelly Glass, is originally from Fargo and currently lives and runs her business in Forest Lake, MN. Glass uses silversmithing techniques such as soldering, hammering, sawing, stamping, filing and gem setting to create pieces inspired by nature. Her jewelry is made from raw brass, sterling silver and high quality gemstones.
Music from local DJ J. Melby will be punctuated by performances from local movement talent. Among them, Chinese Heritage of Recreation and Dance or CHORD, a local dance group. CHORD promotes Chinese culture and art by presenting various traditional dances. During Night Bazaar, CHORD will perform two dances at 6:45 p.m. Later in the evening, artist Kati Rose Hicks will perform an aerial, juggling and hoop routine.
This event is free, suitable for families and dogs. More information, including a full schedule, list of vendors and parking locations, can be found at www.folkways.co/nightbazaar. Another Night Bazaar event will take place this year on September 22.
